Suits season 4

On the run from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant college-dropout, finds himself a job working with Harvey Specter, one of New York City's best lawyers.

Admittedly, Louis is digging his own grave with the obnoxious powertrip, but that doesn't make it any lessĀ satisfying to watch... for a little bit, at least. At the end of the day, the guyĀ is a raging dick, but so are his co-partnersā€”so pot, kettle, black and now their contracts all say so too. "Enough Is Enough" was fun, but it was also the sort of huge episode that effortlessly alters a show's landscape forever, and I'm not talking about Louis becoming a named partner. I'm not even convinced he'll keep his name on the door for the rest of the season; I was barely convinced it's stay up until the end ofĀ episode. Like Mike said, this firm changes its name more than Prince.Ā

No, the biggest change toĀ Suits' status quo is more of a mental jolt. After several seasons of blaming Mike for the firm's troubles while simultaneously using that damning secret about his lawyer cred (or lack thereof) to add toĀ her own power, Jessica finally took an honest look at the situation (and then totally turned around and lied to her b-friend about it, but hey, we can't have someoneĀ winningĀ allĀ the battles in the first episode back), She seemsĀ to have backed off the blame game a smidge... for now.Ā

SuitsĀ wouldn't beĀ SuitsĀ if Mike's secret wasn't threatening to ruin every career within a two-block radius, but after four seasons, saidĀ secret has evolved. After being exploited by nearly everyone he's come in contact with at Pearson Specter (Litt), it's not fair or accurate to label it "Mike's secret" anymore. His time at the firm, his lossesā€”both professional and privateā€”and his disastrous timeĀ awayĀ from the firm have stripped away whatever meekness Mike once displayed toward his superiors;Ā his outburst toward Jessica has been a long time coming. She could have fired him as soon as she learned the truth. Better yet, Harvey could have never hired him. They don't get to keep him around for their own benefit and then take every opportunity to villainize him for seeking his own benefits.Ā
